I am fascinated by the urban and city environment - especially at night and how it influences our imaginations - which then carries into my work in oils and acrylics.
Nick Hedderly is a painter based in Nottingham. He studied at West Notts College in Mansfield in 1980 before graduating from Birmingham School of Art in 1984.
His early abstract work was based on the romantic 'sublime' landscape, and on images of flowers at night. From the late 1990’s his work was inspired primarily by the urban environments of Nottingham and London – often at night or in the early evening. More recent work has included other urban locations such as Derby and Dublin and also subject matter seen at different times of the day.
He has work in private collections in America, China, and the UK.
