About Nick Hedderly
Nick started his career as an abstract artist – winning the Nottingham Open in 1984 with a large landscape-inspired abstract painting. In his artistic journey he has moved to more representational work. His work currently focuses primarily on subjects and views found as he uses his bicycle to explore and travel through the edgelands along the Nottinghamshire-Derbyshire border.
He has work in private collections in America, China, and the UK.

1984 First Prize from the Holbrook Trust, Nottingham Castle Museum.
2002 Awarded one man show at the Nottingham Castle Museum.
2002 First Prize in the Derby Open Competition.
2006 Represented in the permanent collection at Nottingham Castle.
2008 Painting acquired by Derby Museum and Art Gallery.
2008 Painting presented to Ningbo Museum, China on behalf of Nottinghamshire Museums and Galleries.
2007 John E Wright Award at the Derby Open
2011 Tarpey Gallery Award at the Nottingham Open
